Jennifer Lopez wishes she had starred in more action movies when she was younger.

The 53-year-old singer and actress has spent many years doing romantic comedies, but she turned the tide with her latest films.

In "Shotgun Wedding" she starred in more action scenes and in the upcoming "The Mother" she plays an ex-enforcer who comes out of hiding to protect her daughter.

During an appearance on 'The View', Jennifer Lopez said she enjoys the thrill of playing a tough character on screen.

"'The Mother' was a lot of fun and a lot of work," she said of her new film, which will be released on Netflix on May 12.

“I wish I had appeared in these roles that I appear in now, oddly enough, when I was a little more, you know, agile. A little younger. They are empowering and make me feel strong and good. And it was great," he added.

Afterwards, Jennifer Lopez revealed that the makers of 'The Mother' decided to carefully plan the fight scenes in order to use her available time more efficiently.

"We have to be efficient. I can't fight eight hours a day. After an hour, I say, okay. So it had to be really effective and they designed it as a piece of choreography, which is good for me because I'm a dancer," she explained.

During the interview, Jennifer Lopez also talked about her marriage to Ben Affleck, noting that he is a great father to her twin children from her marriage to Marc Anthony.

“He's honestly the best dad I've ever seen. He is so busy. It teaches me how to interact with kids sometimes,” he said.

"He's such a brilliant person anyway, he's so educated about so many things, and you can tell when he had his own kids, he must have read all the books and everything you can learn about kids and he puts it into practice," she continued. .

"He's there and that's all you can ask for is a loving dad who's there, who cares and shows up every day - and that's how he is," she said.
