Rihanna paid tribute to her late cousin, Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, four years after his murder in Barbados.
The 33-year-old singer used social media to honor Alleyne's memory on Sunday by posting a series of moving photos of him, while in many of them she poses lovingly next to him.
"I miss you and that smile, cousin," Rihanna wrote in the caption of her touching post on Instagram, while adding the hashtag #Tavon.
21-year-old Alleyne was fatally shot on December 26, 2017. At that time, the local newspaper "Nation News" reported that he was attacked around 7 in the afternoon, while walking on a street near his house in St. Barbados Michael describing that a man shot him several times and fled.
Rihanna announced the tragic news with a heartbreaking post on her personal Instagram account.
"Rest in peace cousin… I can not believe that just last night I was holding you in my arms! I never expected that this would be the last time I would feel the warmth of your body! I will love you forever friend! " she wrote, while posting a series of photos with her cousin and closed with the hashtag #endgunviolence (End Armed Violence).
Rihanna then attended Alleyne's funeral in her hometown of Barbados. After the moving "celebration" of her cousin's life, the singer posted on the stories of her Instagram account a photo of Alleyne's coffin which was decorated with flowers and said goodbye once again with a moving message.
"Sleep well buddy. We are calm knowing that you are in a better place than us. We will always have a void without you, but we will never stop loving you. "I hope you were happy with your farewell party today," he wrote.
