Rita Ora states that she does not regret that she rejected the opportunity to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest and claims that it was not the right "way" for her.
The 31-year-old pop star was an aspiring singer with no record deal when she was offered the opportunity to represent the UK at the annual competition in 2009 and although she was initially "very excited" about the challenge, she finally felt it was not the way to meet her. success he was looking for.
"This happened before I was even offered a record deal," she said on the Coupledom with Idris and Sabrina Elba podcast with her sister and manager Elena.
"It was an opportunity. He appeared in the audition in front of Andrew Lloyd Webber and I did it and I got it ", he continued.
"I was very excited, but I felt that it was not my time and that this was not my path in the music industry. "I know I was too young to make that decision, but something told me it was not my way, so I did not do it and said no," he explained.
"I wanted to write songs and it did not suit me. "This was a decision we made together (with her sister and Elena's manager), perhaps one of the first big decisions," added Rita Ora.
Elena became Rita's manager because the singer was constantly asking for her opinion and advice and she believes that they have an excellent collaboration.
When asked how the two sisters got to work together, Elena replied: "Rita just asked my opinion and then started each day. As creative as we are, it is impossible to do everything. "It really makes sense when you negotiate numbers and I have no idea what's going on - they're a good team, they protect you."
After rejecting the offer to participate in Eurovision, Rita Ora signed a record deal with JAY-Z's Roc Nation and released her first single, "Hot Right Now", in 2012.
Her first album, entitled "Ora", was released later that year and reached No. 1 of the British charts.
